Psalms 46:8-11 (New Living Translation)
8 Come, see the glorious works of the Lord:
See how he brings destruction upon the world.
9 He causes wars to end throughout the earth.
He breaks the bow and snaps the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
10 “Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”
11 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress.

Today, the 11th day of the 11th month, is when the War to End All Wars ended. Of course the name given by men to that conflict was foolish. Wars did not end. The tendency of mankind to hate and kill continues.

One day, however, wars will end. That won’t come at the conclusion of a man-made and made-ended conflict. That will come when God decides and makes it so. At that time, every nation will realize the pathetic nature we have and the power of God—the power to change one heart, and another, and another. That is true power.

All nations, all peoples will honor God. Let us long for that day.
